History of the Ottobock Global Foundation
Since 2015, the Ottobock Global Foundation has continued the Näder family’s commitment to helping people in need, thereby building on the philosophy of the medtech company Ottobock: Improving the quality of life of people with disabilities. To this day, it remains a heartfelt mission for the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Hans Georg Näder, to bring new hope to children and adolescents in crisis situations. The Ottobock Global Foundation fulfills this mission through humanitarian aid projects worldwide.

Dr.-Ing. E.h. Max Näder founded the independent Otto Bock Foundation in 1987 to promote interdisciplinary cooperation between doctors, therapists and orthopaedic technicians.
Prof. Hans Georg Näder continued his father’s work as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. In 2002, he expanded the foundation’s mission to include charitable activities on an international level.
To this day, the Ottobock Global Foundation relies on the global network of the Ottobock family business. Drawing on extensive experience and expertise in supporting people with disabilities, the foundation implements aid projects with exceptional efficiency and sustainability.
Ottobock contributes to these humanitarian efforts by providing specialized expertise and knowledge transfer to address the shortage of skilled professionals in crisis regions. Additionally, the MedTech company equips workshop and patient care containers to enable direct on-site treatment. Through donations, the Ottobock Global Foundation funds medical-technology support and patient care, particularly for children and adolescents in need.
A growing global network of international aid organizations and partnerships supports the foundation’s efforts, ensuring continuous expansion and impact.
